Facility
The City of Tiffin was experiencing difficulty meeting permitted
effluent limitations and would not be able to meet new water
quality based Ammonia Nitrogen limitations. HFC provided the
design of an extended aeration sludge treatment plant designed to
treat a peak organic load of 665 lb. of BOD5/day to enable
compliance with the new regulations. HFC was successful in the
application and award of the IDNR – State Revolving Fund Loan for
the construction of the wastewater treatment plant rehabilitation.
HFC performed the design, letting, and construction administration
for the wastewater treatment facility. Project cost $1,570,000.
